SLSFL 1911-12 season

The Blue Bells withdrew and were replaced by the Irish-American A.C. prior to the 1911-12 St. Louis Football League season. Dr. Alexander Murray was again re-elected president of the league - a position he had held since the SLSFL's organization. The league paid its players on the cooperative plan with the winning squad receiving 60% of the gate receipts and the losers 40%. Each player received an equal amount with clubs allowed to carry 15 registered players each. Giving extra money or guaranteed amounts to star players was discouraged by league officials as it had caused dissension during the initial season of the league. St. Leo's again easily won the league title and crushed St. Mark's, the amateur league champions, 10-1 at Athletic Park on March 10, 1912 to retain the city championship.
